Dialogue - Shopping 1 - At The Grocery Store

At Grocery Store
Mr. Bates is an English teacher in "Harapan Kita" Senior High School. He is from Arizona, U.S.A. Today, he is going shopping at the local market where he always goes to shop.
Mr. Bates: Good morning, Ms. Ellen.
Ms. Ellen: Oh, Mr. Bates. Good morning. How are you today?
Mr. Bates: Fine, thank you. And you?
Ms. Ellen: Good. Do you need anything today?
Mr. Bates: I want to make fried rice for dinner. How much are those tomatoes?
Ms. Ellen: They are Rp. 1,500 for one kilogram.
Mr. Bates: Okay. I'll get a half kilogram, please.
Ms. Ellen: Anything else?
Mr. Bates: Yes. I need cucumbers. How many cucumbers are there in one kilogram?
Ms. Ellen: You usually get four or six cucumbers. It costs Rp. 600 per kilogram.
Mr. Bates: Okay. I want one kilogram of cucumber, please.

Based on the dialogue above, we can conclude that:
To ask price, we can say:
  1. How much is the tomato? (Singular noun)
  2. How much are the tomatoes? (Plural noun)
To respond, we can say:
  1. It is Rp. 200,- (Singular noun)
  2. They are Rp. 2,000,- (Plural noun)
